LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Manhattan on Friday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action at Sonny Pittaro Field. The Broncs lost the opener, 11-4, and the Jaspers took game two, 6-3.
Rider (13-33, 4-13 MAAC) has now lost 13 games in a row, while Manhattan (20-27, 12-5 MAAC) secured the series victory. It marks the third straight year in which the Jaspers have won their regular-season series versus the Broncs.
In game one, the two traded runs early. Senior

Kyle Johnson (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) gave the hosts a 4-3 edge in the third inning with a two-run blast to left.
The Jaspers answered with two runs in the fourth to take the lead back for good. Manhattan would go on to add one run in the seventh, three in the eight and two more insurance runs in the ninth.
