LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Senior
Kiera Swank (Bear, DE/Caravel Academy) hit a two-run home run to left field in the first game and an RBI single in the second end of today's doubleheader, but Wagner scored late in both games to sweep the series. With the losses, Rider falls to 4-26 while Wagner improves to 10-17 on the season.
In Game 1, the Broncs got out to a 3-0 lead after three innings from RBI hits by juniors
Rachael Zeides (Woodbine/Ocean City) and
Elyse Cuttic (Easton, PA/Bethlehem Catholic). Wagner responded with three runs of their own to tie the game in the fourth thanks to a Kaila Smith three-run homer to left field. Once Swank hit her round-tripper to make it a 5-3 lead for Rider, the Seahawks responded with a nine run seventh inning for the 12-5 final score.
In the second game of the doubleheader, freshman
Lani Moreno (Claremont, CA/Claremont) tied the game in the fourth with an RBI double in the right-center gap to score Cuttic. After a fifth inning Wagner error scored
Gabby Bram (Jackson/Red Bank Catholic) to make it 2-1, Wagner scored four runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh innings to close out the game at 8-3.

Debra Jones (Bordentown/Bordentown) took the loss in Game 1 after a four inning effort. She allowed five hits and four earned runs while striking out four Seahawks.
- Cuttic went the distance in Game 2, but gave up nine hits and six earned runs while also striking out four.
- The Broncs return to action tomorrow when they host hOURglass rival Monmouth. First pitch of the MAAC doubleheader, which will be broadcast live on ESPN3, is scheduled for 12 pm.

Kelsey Marigliano (Seaford/Plainledge) had two more hits in today's doubleheader. She has the best batting average of any current Bronc (.280) and has now had a hit in 12 of her last 14 games.
- Freshmen
Gianna Epps (Pottstown, PA/Pottstown), Marigliano, and Moreno all reached base twice on the day. Epps singled and scored a run in the first game.
- Freshman
Grace Stansfield (Philadelphia, PA/William Penn Charter) stole her second base of the season in Game 1, making the Broncs 10-12 on converting stolen bases this season.Â
