Rider's lead would swell to as many as seven at 10-1 in the fifth inning following a two-run double down the right-field line from
Richie Tecco (Drexel Hill, PA/Monsignor Bonner).
NJIT would pull within three at 10-7 thanks to scoring six runs in the sixth.
Rider promptly answered with six runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by a three-run home run to right from
Riley Mihalik (Churchville, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy), to pull away.
NOTES & QUOTES
"We've been in several ball games where we give up a big inning, just like today. However, today our bats were good. We kept swinging. Overall, we showed some power and stole a few bases. We created our own offense at time. We just need to play defense better which is the key."
