Zach Fick went 3-for-4 with three runs scored for the Broncs

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Junior left-hander Pete Soporowski (Sayreville, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) tossed seven and two-thirds scoreless innings and the offense registered 11 hits as the Rider University baseball team defeated Saint Peter's, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action.

The Broncs (10-18, 2-5 MAAC) won their second game in a row, while the Peacocks (1-22, 1-6 MAAC) fell for the sixth time in league play this year.

Soporowski was dealing from the get-go and he struck out seven hitters without issuing a walk to earn his third victory of the year.

After three scoreless innings between the two hOURglass rivals, the Broncs opened the scoring courtesy of homer from Riley Mihalik (Churchville, PA/Chestnut Hill Academy). Mihalik hit a two-run blast to right to put Rider up 2-0 in the fourth.

The Broncs added a single run in the fifth and three in the sixth. Rider put the game away with a run in the eighth off a fielder's choice from Richie Tecco (Drexel Hill, PA/Monsignor Bonner).
