VILLANOVA, PA – The Rider University men's tennis team was swept at Villanova Sunday morning, 7-0. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 3-9, while the Wildcats are now 12-11.
The Wildcats made quick work of the doubles point, winning all three flights. The closest match came at No. 3, where
Peter Komosinski (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Laurel Springs) and
Nicholas Salazar (Miami, FL/Westminster Christian School) fell to Matthew Jones and Collin Klumb, 6-2.
Villanova also won all six singles flights in straight sets. Komosinski put up the best fight at No. 2, falling to Tyler Roth, 6-4, 6-1.
Javier Melendez fell to Thomas Dodson, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3. No other Bronc secured more than two games in their matches.
Rider returns to action Tuesday, when it travels to Marist at 3 p.m.
