POUGHKEEPSIE, NY –
Peter Komosinski (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Laurel Springs) and
Nicholas Salazar (Miami, FL/Westminster Christian School) earned a 7-6 (5) win at No. 3 doubles, but the Rider University men's tennis team fell to Marist, 7-0, Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 3-10 (0-5 MAAC), while the Red Foxes are now 11-8 (5-0 MAAC).
Komosinski and Salazar defeated Carlos Moreno and Jack Sequerth, 7-6 (5) at No. 3 doubles. But the Red Foxes easily won at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, 6-0 and 6-1, respectively, to take the doubles point.
Marist won all six singles flights in straight sets.
Griffin Clark (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) came closest to a singles win, falling to Kian Yazdi, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 5. Komosinski also pushed Max Darrington at No. 4, but fell, 6-2, 6-3. No other Bronc took more than three games.
Rider returns to action Friday, when it faces Niagara at 3 p.m.
