BRONX, NY – Fordham took all three doubles flights and all six singles matches to sweep the Rider University men's tennis team, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 2-6, while the Rams are now 10-4.
The Rams won by 6-2 margins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, while winning 6-0 at No. 3.
Ryan Ciaccio (Mercerville, NJ/Hamilton North [Nottingham]) played the most competitive singles match against Allen Thornes at No. 4, falling 6-3, 6-4.
Griffin Clark (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) bounced back from an 0-6 first set to push Jofre Segarra, 5-7, in the second at No. 5. But Fordham took all six singles flights in straight sets.
Rider returns to action Sunday, when they travel to Navy. First serve from Annapolis, MD, is scheduled for 1 p.m.
