ALBANY, NY –
Tyere Marshall (Philadelphia, PA/Martin Luther King/Putnam Science) scored a team-high 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting, but the fourth-seeded Rider University men's basketball team fell at fifth-seeded Siena, 87-81, Saturday night at the Times Union Center. The Saints (17-15) hit 65.1 percent (28-43) from the floor and will move on to Sunday's semifinals against top-seeded Iona. Rider ends its season at 16-15.
Siena established an early 17-10 lead, with five of its first six made field goals coming from long range. The Broncs later responded with a 9-2 spurt, capped by consecutive

The Saints led by as many as seven in the early going of the second half, but the Broncs whittled away until
Dimencio Vaughn's (New York, NY/Callaway/The Masters School) three-point play with 7:35 remaining tied the game at 59-59 and consecutive buckets from Marshall and Jordan gave the Broncs' one-point leads, the last with 5:16 left. But Jalen Pickett's bucket in the paint at the 4:52 mark sparked a 12-1 Siena run and the Saints never trailed again. Rider cut the deficit to four, 82-78, on three
Jordan Allen (Dover, DE/Dover) free throws with 41 seconds remaining, but could draw no closer.
