STATEN ISLAND, NY – Three members of the Rider University women's track and field team competed at the Fastrack National Invite on Friday. The one-day event was contested at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
"It was a really good effort by the women tonight," Rider Head Coach
Bob Hamer said. "Tactically they needed to get out a bit better and I believe that would have carried them to some faster times but it was a still a good result. We got a few PRs and a few top ten marks. Anytime you can do that with three athletes racing it's a good day."
Freshman
Teagan Schein-Becker (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley) and junior
Kristin Siegle (Estell Manor, NJ/Buena Regional) each set new personal bests in the one-mile run. Schein-Becker finished at 5:04.79 and Siegle crossed the finish line at 5:06.21.
The Broncs return to action next weekend, February 16-17, competing in the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. The two-day event takes place at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
