Broncs take on Gaels in pivotal game to MAAC standings

What You Need To Know
- Rider and Iona are meeting for the 65th time, with the Gaels holding a 38-26 edge in the series. The Gaels took a 77-71 win on Jan. 25 in New Rochelle. The last time the two teams met in Lawrenceville resulted in a 110-101 Rider win.
- RU has won three straight over Monmouth, Saint Peter's and Niagara.
- Prior to the game, the Broncs will honor seniors Anthony Durham and Karamoko Cisse during Senior Day ceremonies.
- Tyere Marshall had double-doubles in two-straight with 17 points and 10 rebounds against Monmouth and a career-high 25 points to go along with 14 rebounds at Saint Peter's. He has a team-best three double-doubles on the year.
- Stevie Jordan now ranks 5th all-time in assists at Rider with 458. He also scored his 1,000th point on Feb. 12 at Quinnipiac and his 138 steals rank tied for eighth in program history.   
- Rider ranks eighth nationally at 9.3 steals per game. 
- Though Rider has trailed by double-digits in regulation of seven of 16 MAAC games and trailed at the half in eight of 16, the Broncs have erased the deficit in all eight and won four of the eight. 
- RU has outscored MAAC opponents by 7.0 points per game in the paint.
- Head Coach Kevin Baggett (122-102) passed former mentor Tommy Dempsey (119-105) for fifth all-time at Rider on Feb. 15 with his 120th career win. Next on the list are Don Harnum (127-103) and Kevin Bannon (128-103). 
- The Broncs have been outscored by 13 points combined in the first halves of 16 MAAC games. By comparison, Rider is +78 in the second halves.  
- Iona has won six-straight games to surge to the top of the MAAC standings.
- E.J. Crawford leads Iona at 17.7 points per game, shooting 50.9 percent. Rickey McGill has added 15.6 points, 5.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game, while Tajuan Agee also averages in double figures (13.0 ppg.) and is the Gaels' leading rebounder (8.1 rpg.). Asante Gist also averages in double figures (11.8 ppg.).
- The Broncs returned all five starters, their top six scorers and 95 percent of their scoring from last year's team.
- Seventh-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 122-102 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
