- The Rider University wrestling team wraps up the dual season with a 1 p.m. match against Maryland on Sunday at Alumni Gym.
- Prior to the match, the Broncs will honor their three-member senior class of
Jovanni Gomez,
Jesse Rodgers and
Michale Fagg-Daves during Senior Day ceremonies.
- Rider is ranked No. 17 in the latest NWCA Mid-Major Top 20.
- Rider is 8-4 in the dual season, including a 5-1 mark in EWL matches. The Broncs bounced back from their lone EWL setback at Lock Haven on Feb. 8 to defeat Bloomsburg, 28-15, on Feb. 10.
- The Broncs were set to take on Minnesota on Thursday, but the match was cancelled due to travel complications caused by snowstorms both in Minnesota and along the east coast.
- Senior
Dean Sherry earned his first win by fall this season at Bloomsburg, pinning Gavin Hale at 2:29.
- Redshirt junior
Jesse Dellavecchia was named EWL Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 14 after going 3-0 against competition from Cleveland State, Drexel and Edinboro. Dellavecchia now has a team-high 20 wins, is 10-1 in dual competition and 5-1 against EWL opponents.
- Dellavecchia is now ranked as highly as No. 14 nationally by FloWrestling and TheOpenMat and No. 15 by Intermat. Amateur Wrestling News and WIN have him ranked 17
th and 18
th, respectively.

Anthony Cefolo was named EWL Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 21 after pinning nationally-ranked No. 7 Austin Gomez of Iowa State.
- Cefolo had won seven-straight, including four-straight by fall and a fifth in a row by bonus points, prior to setbacks at Lock Haven and Bloomsburg.
- The Broncs own a 6-5 lead in the all-time series with Maryland, including wins in each of the last three. Rider defeated Maryland on the road, 23-18, last Feb. 18.
- Maryland's top performers in duals this season have been heavyweight Youssif Homida and Alfred Bannister at 149. Both wrestlers have five dual victories.
- Rider had 12 top six finishes in their three tournaments – the Princeton Open, Keystone Classic and Southern Scuffle - including
Jonathan Tropea's (Harrington Park, NJ/Saint Joseph (Montvale)) Keystone Classic Championship at 125 and runner-up finish at the Princeton Open and a fourth-place finish from Dellavecchia at the Southern Scuffle.
- The Broncs were picked second in the EWL Preseason Coaches Poll, while seniors
Dean Sherry (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) and
Anthony Cefolo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park [South Dakota State]) were picked atop their weight classes of 174 and 133, respectively.
- The Broncs' recruiting class was ranked No. 22 in the nation by Intermat. Frankie Gissendanner (Rochester, NY/Penfield) headlined the class after ranking second in the country last year.
Chris Wright (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) was also ranked 13
th at 126 last year, while
Joe Casey (Bridgewater, NJ/Bound Brook),
Bryan Martin (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown),
Richie Koehler (Middletown, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) and
Quentin Milliken (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity) also come highly rated.
- A Rider wrestler has achieved All-American status on 17 occasions, including 15 different wrestlers.
