PRINCETON, NJ – The Broncs won two matches, but the nationally-ranked No. 25 Rider University wrestling team fell at local rival #12 Princeton, 32-9, Thursday night at Dillon Gymnasium. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 3-2, while the Tigers are now 2-2.
With the match starting at 157, the Tigers took a 13-7 decision in a rematch between #7 Quincy Monday and #6
Jesse Dellavecchia (Great River, NY/East Islip). Dellavecchia had defeated Monday at the season-opening Princeton Open on Nov. 3. Princeton would continue to rack up wins with a fall at 165 and a decision at 174, pushing its lead to 12-0.
Rider fought back with
George Walton's (Franklin, NJ/Bound Brook) fall at 184 against #18 Travis Stefanik. But the Tigers' advantage continued to grow until
Anthony Cefolo (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park Regional) took a decision over Ty Agaisse at 133. However, Princeton closed out the 32-9 victory with wins at 141 and 149.

- After Princeton snapped a 17-match Rider winning streak in the all-time series dating back to the 1986-87 season last year, the Tigers have now won two straight over the Broncs. Rider now holds a 17-6 lead in the series. - Rider returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 1, when it travels to Chattanooga, TN, for the Southern Scuffle.
