SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team opened the 2019-20 season with a 164-129 dual-meet loss against in-state rival Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon at Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.

On the day, the Broncs won seven events.

Freshman
David Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway Regional) had a strong debut for Rider with a pair of victories. Rucci won the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.55 and he also finished first in the 200 back at 1:52.82.

Senior
Justin Carey (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) won the 100 fly with a time of 49.80 and he also won the 100 back with a mark of 49.82. Carey added a second-place finish in the 100 free.

 In the diving events,
Dillon Walles (The Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands High School) was dominant. He won the 1M with a score of 285.82 and he finished first overall in the 3M at 307.28.

Kyle Iorizzo landed in second-place in the 1,000 free.

Matt Lequang came in second in the 200 free and third in the 500 free.
