Men's Soccer Plays Fairfield To Scoreless Draw

Gatinois makes eight saves

FAIRFIELD, CT – The 2018 MAAC Tournament Champion Rider University men's soccer team and 2019 Preseason favorite Fairfield played to a scoreless draw Wednesday night to open league play. With the tie, the Broncs move to 3-3-1 (0-0-1 MAAC), while the Stags are now 2-3-3 (0-0-1 MAAC).

Strong goalkeeper play was the story in the game, with the Broncs' Pablo Gatinois (Madrid, Spain/Lycee Francais de Madrid) making eight saves and his counterpart, Fairfield's Gordon Botterill, stopping seven shots.

Included in Gatinois' eight saves was a stop from inside the six-yard box in the 90th minute to send the game to overtime.
