Broncs tie program record with 17th-straight home win

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ Tyere Marshall (Philadelphia, PA/Martin Luther King/Putnam Science) had a team-high 14 points and nine rebounds as the Rider University men's basketball team came from behind to defeat hOURglass rival Saint Peter's, 59-51, Thursday night at Alumni Gymnasium. With the win, the Broncs (12-8, 7-1 MAAC) have now tied the program record with 17-straight wins at home, established between the 1992-93 and 1993-94 seasons. The Peacocks are now 6-14 (3-5 MAAC).

Quotes & Notes
"I'm just happy to get the win. We certainly didn't play well. But we did what we needed to do when we needed to do it. We've got to get better. We've got to do better."

"To me, that's the sign of a good team that you're struggling from the perimeter and struggling for the game. And yet, when we needed to score and needed to go inside for a basket, we did some good things. Devine set the tone again defensively, especially in the second half. I thought Tyere had a much better second half than he did the first half. We've got to do a better job establishing the post and getting it to Tyere. But he's got to finish early on for us. But it's a sign of a good team when you can find other ways to win when you're 0-for-14 from the three."

"I'm not satisfied. We've got a long way to go. We've got to get better. We've got to really come out and be ready to play and be the team that we're capable of being and stop playing from behind and allowing team to stay in the game when we ought to really be trying to put teams away early and set the precedent." – Rider Head Coach Kevin Baggett

"Everybody knows that the second half is crunch time. Everybody digs down and gives it their all. We want to come out with the win."

"(Devine Eke) just brings a whole lot of energy. When he comes in, we just get a whole lot of stops, blocks, everything. Defensively, then it translates to the offensive end. Then you see him get dunks and the crowd gets into it, we get into it and we win the game."  – Rider junior guard Stevie Jordan

"I just love playing defense. That's just my time to shine. Everybody else has their time – that's my time to shine. That just brings me up and it trickles down to everybody else." – Rider redshirt junior forward Devine Eke
