BROOKLYN, NY – LIU Brooklyn scored three times in the match's final 20 minutes to take a 3-0 victory Saturday over the Rider University men's soccer team. With the loss, the Broncs slip to 1-4-1, while the Blackbirds are now 3-3-1.
Following 70 scoreless minutes, the Blackbirds broke the deadlock at the 70:04 mark, when Rasmus Hanson finished in front off assists from Xavi Verdu and Guiseppe Barone. Just over nine minutes later, Frederik Mathisen finished on one touch off a cross from Marius Koss.
The Blackbirds added another insurance goal 90 seconds later, with Michael Gianino finding himself 1v1 with Rider goalkeeper
Garret Potter (Lafayette, NJ/High Point) following assists Mathisen and Filip Nordstrom.
