JERSEY CITY, NJ – Diego Delgado (Lara, Venezuela/Colegio Rioclaro) and Javier Melendez (Cayey, PR/Colegio La Merced) both fell in three sets as the Rider University men's tennis team fell to Saint Peter's, 7-0, to close out the 2018 season. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 0-14 (0-7 MAAC).

In doubles, the Broncs dropped a pair of close matches. Lysander Payano Almonte (New Brunswick, NJ/Colegio Quusquey/Rockland C.C.) and Griffin Clark (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) fell to Piotr Sowinski and John Oxner, 6-4, at No. 1, while Diego Delgado (Lara, Venezuela/Colegio Rioclaro) and Javier Melendez (Cayey, PR/Colegio La Merced) were edged by Hector Andre Jacome and Ignacio Tintore, 7-6, at No. 2.

Melendez and Delgado both played close singles matches that featured a super tie-breaker third set. Melendez won the first set against Sowinski, 7-6, but fell in the second, 6-3, and in the super tie-breaker, 9-7, at No. 2. Delgado got up a set against John Oxner at No. 3 with a 6-3 victory in the first, before falling, 6-1, in the second and 10-8 in the super tie-breaker. Saint Peter's rounded out the victory with straight-sets victories at Nos. 1, 4 and 5.
