LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Rider University women's tennis team fell to La Salle, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 2-15, while the Explorers are now 5-11.

The Explorers took the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 and a pair of 6-3 decisions at Nos. 2 and 3. Straight sets singles victories at Nos. 1, 3 and 6 clinched the win for La Salle.

The remaining matches were halted with the match already decided. Sydney Jeffrey (Port St. Lucie, FL/Lincoln Park Academy) took the first set at No. 5 against Aleksandra Santarelli, 6-3, before Santarelli evened the match at a set apiece with a 6-3 win of her own as the match was halted.

Vanessa Canda (Jersey City, NJ/McNair Academic) was fighting back at No. 2 singles, when her match against Ali Snyder was stopped. Snyder took the first set, 6-2, while Canda led, 3-2, in the second. Meanwhile, Amanda Binder (Princeton, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro North) was competing hard against Jade Smith at No. 4 when the match was halted with Smith leading, 6-3, 3-2.

The Broncs return to action Friday, when they travel to hOURglass rival Saint Peter's. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
