VILLANOVA, PA – Villanova took all six singles matches and the doubles point to defeat the Rider University women's tennis team, 7-0, Thursday afternoon. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-10, while the Wildcats even their record at 7-7.

Playing with just five players, the Broncs defaulted at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. Villanova cruised to a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles and a 6-3 win at No. 3 to sweep the doubles point.

In singles, Amanda Binder (Princeton, NJ/West Windsor Plainsboro North) came closest to winning a set at No. 3, but fell to Victoria Martinez, 6-3, 6-0. Caitlin Gardner (Fishers, IN/Fishers), Sydney Jeffrey (Port St. Lucie, FL/Lincoln Park Academy) and Montana Morris (Horsham, PA/Hatsboro-Horsham) each took two games each in a set at Nos. 2, 4 and 5, respectively.

The Broncs return to action Saturday, when they play host to Coppin State at 2 p.m.
