- The Highlanders enters Wednesday's midweek clash with 1-6 record after going 1-1 at their Thanksgiving weekend tournament. NJIT had dropped five straight to open the year, before topping Western Carolina, 79-71. NJIT was picked to finish ninth in the ASUN Preseason Poll. The Highlanders have a balanced offensive attack with three players averaging in double figures, led by Kelly Guarino with just under 14 points per tilt. Guarino is shooting a team-best 46.9 percent (23-of-49) from three-point range. Danielle Tunstall and Ellyn Stoll are both pouring in over 11 points per tilt for the Highlanders this year. Tunstall is grabbing a team-best seven rebounds per tilt and Stoll has dished out 17 assists in 2018-19 thus far. As a team, NJIT is committing over 22 turnovers per game and they have a -8.7 turnover margin.

- Rider scored a 79-64 victory on the road against NJIT in December of 2017. Three Broncs scored in double figures in the contest, led by Lea Favre. Favre poured in a career-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting. She also knocked down all six of her free-throw attempts. Rider opened the fourth quarter on a 12-3 run over the first four-plus minutes of the frame to take back a double-digit lead they would not relinquish.

- The Broncs lead the all-time series, 2-1. Wednesday's meeting is the fourth all-time between the in-state foes. The two squads are playing for the second straight year and for just the second time since the 2012-13 campaign. The road team has won all three meetings in the series history.

- Junior Stella Johnson recorded the second triple-double in program history for the Broncs against Mount St. Mary's. She scored a career-high 35 points to go along with 12 rebounds and 10 assists. She is the first player in program history to record a triple-double with points, rebounds and assists. It marked the first triple-double by a player in the MAAC since January of 2005. It was also the first triple-double by a Bronc since Jessica Beck had 19 points, 18 rebounds and 12 blocks in February of 1995.
