Men's Soccer Falls in Overtime at Manhattan, 1-0

Broncs played down a man for final 14 minutes

RIVERDALE, NY – Playing down a man following a second yellow card to Arthur Herpreck (Brest, France/West Brittany) in the 77th minute, the Rider University men's soccer team fell to Manhattan, 1-0, in overtime Wednesday night. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 4-6-1 (3-1-0 MAAC), while the Jaspers are now 10-3-0 (3-2-0 MAAC).

Following a scoreless first half, five yellow cards were shown in the second half, including two to Herpreck, forcing Rider to play down a man for the remainder of the game. Broncs goalkeeper Pablo Gatinois (Madrid, Spain/Lycee Francais de Madrid [Oregon State]) made all five of his saves after the halftime break.

21 seconds into overtime, the Jaspers struck for the game winner. After a long cross to the right post was sent back in front, Milan Devuyst's initial shot was saved by Gatinois. But the ball came back down to Devuyst's feet and he shot high past Gatinois for the golden goal.
