Lawrenceville, NJ – Three different players scored in double figures to lead the Rider University women's basketball past visiting TCNJ, 72-42, in an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium.

Stella Johnson (Denville, NJ/Morris Catholic) each scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Broncs offensive charge. The duo shot an efficient 15-of-21 (71.4 percent) and combined for 15 rebounds with Hoskova pulling down seven and Johnson grabbing eight of her own. Freshman guard
Jaiden Morris (Richmond, VA/Monacan) was the other Bronc in double figures with 14 points thanks to a 4-for-4 showing at the charity stripe.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Broncs held TCNJ to 28 percent shooting and forced 27 Lion turnovers. Johnson had a game-high five steals, while both Morris and junior guard
Lexi Posset (Pittsburgh, PA/Beaver Area) had four apiece.
Rider and TCNJ traded baskets early before the hosts used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to build a lead they would not relinquish.
NOTES & QUOTES
"We are young," Rider Head Coach
Lynn Milligan said. "If you didn't watch us play last year you probably didn't know who anyone was on the court. All of our new kids got to play a lot of minutes today. They put the uniform on for the first time."
"We need to slow ourselves down a little bit on the offensive end," Milligan added. "I think defensively we did a really good job. Overall, our defense was terrific. Our defense is going to help us early because it is ahead of our offense. We are going to need defensive pressure and to score in transition. It is important that we have kids that can make a play off the ball."
"We are deeper than I thought," Milligan noted. "We have a lot of different lineups we can put out there. We have a lot of players that are willing to play multiple positions and do a lot of things for us."
