LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Six Broncs scored in double figures, led by freshman Tyrei Randall's (Aurora, CO/St. Thomas More) 22 points, as the Rider University men's basketball team defeated Ningbo University (China), 115-71, in an exhibition game Saturday afternoon. Anthony Durham (Philadelphia, PA/Abington) added 17 points, while Frederick Scott (Munster, IN/Simeon [DePaul]) had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Devine Eke (Plainfield, NJ/Union Catholic [Maine]) added a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Kealen Washington-Ives (Providence, RI/Classical) also scored 12 points. Stevie Jordan (Bensalem, PA/Conwell-Egan/API) chipped in with nine points, 10 assists and five steals, while Tyere Marshall (Philadelphia, PA/Martin Luther King) also scored nine.

After Ningbo opened the scoring on a LiCheng Luan jumper in the opening minute, the Broncs scored the next five points and didn't trail again. The lead swelled to 21 points prior to the midway point of the half and reached 30 on two occasions in the opening stanza, including a 66-36 lead at the break. Ningbo would draw to within no closer than 26 the rest of the way and Rider took its largest lead, the final margin of 44 on a Jordan Allen (Dover, DE/Dover) lay-up with 22 seconds left.

Quotes & Notes
"We finally got a chance to play in a game atmosphere. I thought our guys shared the ball well with 24 assists to 10 turnovers. You can't get any better than that."

"It's a fun team. You're going to have a chance to watch these guys grow and get better. I've been saying this for a while now – we can score the ball. We just have to be able to defend and do a better job of that." – Rider Head Coach Kevin Baggett

"We've got a bunch of young guys on this team that don't have a lot of game experience. That's something I, Kealen, Stevie, Tyere and some other guys bring to the table. Just being a leader is my main focus. I don't care if I score 20 points or zero points. I just want to lead these guys to wins." – Junior guard Anthony Durham

"I just mentally prepared all week. I didn't practice as well as I should've, but I still maintained what I needed to do. I mentally prepared this morning and locked in for today's game so I could come out and show out in front of the fans and show Baggs that I can play ball at this level and do everything that he asks of me." – Freshman guard Tyrei Randall

- Ningbo University is a dynamic, young and comprehensive university located in the historical and cultural city of Ningbo on the East China Sea. Ningbo was playing the third game on a tour of the area, having already played Caldwell and Bloomfield on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
- The Broncs open the 2017-18 season on Friday, when they play host to Hampton University at 8 p.m. The game is a second of a men's and women's doubleheader, with the Broncs' women's team taking on Bucknell at 5:30 p.m.
- Three-year student manager Joe Ajike (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) saw his first action since being added to the roster and scored two points and grabbed four rebounds.

Broncs by the Numbers
- Randall and Jordan narrowly missed double-doubles with the freshman grabbing nine rebounds and the sophomore point guard scoring nine points to go along with his 10 assists. Jordan did his damage in just 15 minutes on the court.
- Rider outrebounded Ningbo, 60-33, with a 29-7 edge in offensive boards. In turn, the Broncs outscored Ningbo, 36-8, on second-chance opportunities.
- Rider shot 53.2 percent (25-47) in the first half and just missed 50 percent for the game at 49.4 percent (44-89).
