What You Need to Know
- The Rider University volleyball team hosts Siena and Marist this weekend, October 7-8, in MAAC play.
- The Broncs are 4-1 at home this year and 6-1 inside the Garden State in 2017. Last time out, Rider raced past Saint Peter's, 3-0.
- Rider has won three matches in a row entering the weekend. The team has captured seven straight sets versus their opponents thanks to back-to-back sweeps of Delaware State and the Peacocks.
- Siena is coming off its first win of the season last time out against Manhattan in conference action. Each of Siena's last two matches have gone five sets.
- Rider swept the regular season series against Siena last fall before losing to the Saints in the MAAC Tournament. The Broncs have won three of the last four meetings with Siena.
- The Broncs have split their meetings with Marist each of the two seasons.
- Emma Aldaya continued her strong play for Rider, averaging 4.27 digs per set as the Broncs went a perfect 3-0 last week. Aldaya opened the week with 22 digs in a five-set MAAC win against Iona. She followed that up with 14 digs in a 3-0 win against Delaware State and 11 digs in a three-set victory at Saint Peter's. She has recorded 20 or more digs in a match five times this year.
- Earlier this season, Aldaya became the program's all-time leader in digs. She currently has 1,895 digs and is on pace to be the first Bronc to ever records 2,000 digs.
- Hailey Riede averaged 3.55 kills per set and had an attack average of .450 last week. Riede had 11 or more kills in all three matches, highlighted by recording 15 and 13 in conference win against Iona and Saint Peter's, respectively. In a three-set win versus Delaware State, she had a season-high .579 attack percentage thanks to recording 11 kills. She ended the week with 13 kills and zero attack errors in a three-set win versus the Peacocks. She is averaging over 13 kills per match in conference play and leads the team with 192 kills this season.
- Freshman defensive specialist Brynn Sherbert averaged three digs per set last week. Sherbert began the week with a season-best 18 digs in a five-set MAAC win versus Iona. She had seven or more digs in all three matches to go along with a .961 serve reception percentage.   
- Veronica Koval has 582 assists and is averaging nearly nine assists per set. She has recorded a team-high seven double-doubles this year. In the season opener this year, she became the fifth player in program history to record 2,000 career assists. She is currently fourth in Rider history with 2,560 assists.
