Riverdale, NY – Senior setter
Veronica Koval (Allentown, PA/Parkland) recorded a double-double thanks to a 36-assist, 14-dig performance to lead the Rider University women's volleyball team past Manhattan, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action. The Broncs beat Manhattan by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-19.
The Broncs (12-10, 6-4 MAAC) have now won five of their last six matches, while the Jaspers (1-20, 1-8 MAAC) have dropped eight of their nine conference matches in 2017.
Offensively, junior
Hailey Riede (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) led the Rider attack with 12 kills and an impressive .414 hitting percentage, while classmate
Savannah Logan (Jupiter, FL/Benjamin) added 11 kills of her own. Junior
Perry Williams (Portland, OR/Cleveland) and sophomore
Evelyn Shanefield (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby) both chipped in seven kills apiece for the visitors.
Koval had a team-best 14 digs, while senior tri-captain
Emma Aldaya (Prospect Park, PA/Merion Mercy Academy) and freshman
Brynn Sherbert (Temecula, CA/Great Oak) both added 11 digs apiece for the Broncs. At the net, Shanefield also added 1 solo block and three block assists.

"We played well today," Rider Head Coach Chris Feliciano said. "It's very encouraging to see some things come together. The team has been working hard in practice and the results are showing. I tip my hat off to the for taking care of the first part of the long stretch on the road. I'm very proud of them."
- Rider had 43 kills, 53 digs, nine service aces and six total blocks.
- Rider swept the weekend series at Iona and Manhattan for the first time in program history. Â
- The Broncs are 7-8 outside of Lawrenceville this year and 4-5 in true road games. Rider has won three straight road conference matches.
- Rider has now won back-to-back matches versus Manhattan.
- The win was the 51st conference win for Feliciano. In the 14 years before he arrived the team had 35 MAAC wins, he has won 51 midway through his seventh season with the Broncs. It also marked his 93rd career win as the team's head coach.   Â
Broncs by the Numbers
- Koval has had 25 or more assists in 19 matches this season, including 14 straight. The double-double was the ninth her ninth of the season. Five of those have come in MAAC play. She is the only Bronc with a  double-double in 2017. She averaged a double-double for the week with 39 assists per match and 12.5 digs per match. Koval had 11.1 assists per set for the week and 3.5 digs per set.Â
- Riede has now reached double-digits in kills in a match 15 times this fall, including 14 matches in a row. She has a team-best 242 kills in 2017. In conference play, she is averaging 12 kills per match. It was her third match with a hitting percentage over .400.
- Aldaya has recorded 10 or more digs in 15 matches this season, including seven times in MAAC play.
- Logan has registered 10 or more kills seven times in 2017, including two matches in a row.
- Rider took advantage of 13 Manhattan attack errors and five Jasper service errors.
