- Rider and Hartford are meeting for the fifth time and the fourth time in the last five years. The Broncs own a 3-1 lead in the series, including a pair of wins at Chase Arena. Each of the last two victories came by a two-point margin, including a double-overtime triumph last Dec. 30 in Lawrenceville.
- Rider defeated two-time defending MEAC Champion Hampton, 67-56, on the road to open the season on Friday. All five starters scored at least nine points, led by 14 apiece from
Xavier Lundy and
Stevie Jordan.
- Jordan's 14 points are the most on record by a Bronc making his debut as a freshman in the last 21 years (as far back as full box scores are available).
- Jordan also dished out five assists, grabbed three rebounds and blocked two shots in 31 minutes to earn MAAC Rookie of the Week.
