HACKENSACK—Despite leading two sets to none, the Rider University volleyball team lost the final non-conference regular season match at Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night.
The Knights of FDU won 19-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 15-12.
“We had a six point lead in set two that we almost didn't close out,” said head coach Christopher Feliciano. “That gave FDU all the momentum back.”

Rider and FDU met twice last season with the Broncs winning 3-0 at the Rose Hill Classic hosted by Fordham University and 3-1 in Lawrenceville. This was the 45th meeting all-time with Rider leading the series 27-18.
This is the second match in a row that Rider has led two sets to none and has not come home with the victory.
Rider is 2-0 and in first place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Broncs continue conference play against Marist College on Saturday, beginning at 1pm in Alumni Gymnasium.
