Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y.—The Rider University volleyball team was swept in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Siena College on Saturday afternoon.
The second place Saints defeated the first place Broncs 25-18, 25-18, 25-18, splitting the season series.
“We didn't match the emotional commitment set forth by Siena,” said head coach Christopher Feliciano. “We need to put our best foot forward always regardless what the score is throughout the match. Siena was just a better team today.”
For Rider (14-11, 9-2 MAAC) sophomore Veronica Koval (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) had 14 assists and 10 digs with sophomore Emma Aldaya (Prospect Park, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy) compiling 13 digs.
Senior Brandie Hill (Portland, Ore./Lincoln) added nine digs and nine assists for the Broncs.
Siena held a 49-27 advantage in kills and out-attacked the Broncs .244 to .071.
Rider won a five-set match against Siena in September. The Saints improved to 27-4 all-time against Rider.
The Broncs stay in New York for a MAAC match at Marist College on Sunday.
