Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match

LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University men's and women's tennis teams were swept by Quinnipiac University in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Sunday afternoon.

“We fought hard against one of the top teams in the conference,” said head coach Doug Potkay.

For the Rider men, sophomore Diego Delgado (Lara, Venezuela/Colegio Rioclaro) won his opening set at first singles, 6-2 before losing in three sets.

“Diego played well today,” said Potkay.  “He took the opening set with an aggressive style of play but tired out in the second and third set.”

For the Bronc women, freshman Caitlin Gardner (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) won two games at second singles before losing in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

The Rider women travel to Monmouth University on Wednesday for a MAAC match at 3pm.
