LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University women's tennis team lost 6-1 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match to Siena College in the 2014 season opener on Saturday afternoon.
For Rider (0-1, 0-1 MAAC), senior Alison Noll (Monmouth Junction, N.J./South Brunswick) won in three sets at first singles, 6-1, 3-6 and 10-6 in the super tie breaker.
“Everyone played a competitive match,” said Rider head coach Doug Potkay. “Even though some of the match scores didn't indicate it, the individual games were close. For the opening match, I was proud of the effort.”
Both the Rider men's and women's tennis teams host Hofstra at noon on Sunday.
