LAWRENCEVILLE—Despite a win at first singles from junior Alison Noll (Monmouth Junction/South Brunswick), the Rider University women's tennis team lost a non-conference match to Delaware State University, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
“We ran into a more experienced team on an extremely windy day,” said head coach Ed Torres. “Both teams had to battle the elements, which were really the worst of a the spring season but Delaware State handled it a little better than we did.”
Noll won 6-4 and was leading 2-0 when her opponent retired.
Also for the Broncs, senior Kim Leder (Sicklerville/Timber Creek) won five games at sixth singles before losing 7-5, 6-0.
Both the Rider men's and women's teams host La Salle Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
