Lafayette College 6, Rider University 1
EASTON, Pa.—Despite a win at first singles by junior Alison Noll (Monmouth Junction/South Brunswick), the Rider University women's tennis team lost a non-conference match at Lafayette College on Saturday afternoon.
Noll dropped the opening set 6-3 before roaring back against the Leopards 6-0 in the second set and 10-6 in the third set to take the victory.
“The match was played under good conditions,” said head coach Ed Torres. “Alison (Noll) played very well. She lost the opening set to a very good player and then came back and made no errors with a very steady game to sweep the second set. She then got off to a fast start in the 10-point tiebreaker, opening up a 9-3 lead.”
The Bronc women host Wagner on Tuesday at 2:00pm.
“We kept the ball alive and battled,” Torres said. “They are making improvements and today was a good experience for them.”
