12 Broncs MAAC All-Academic
EDISON—12 members of the Rider University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic team, it was announced Wednesday afternoon, prior to the conference championships.
From the Rider men's team, seniors Sean Newhouse and Shane Tubb, junior Kevin McManus and sophomore Evan Paules were recognized for compiling a grade point average of 3.20 or higher.
From the Bronc women's team, senior Danielle Warwick, juniors Gess Charniga, Heather Good, Morgan Kandrac and sophomores Emma Billerbeck, Megan Radolec, Taylor Shelley and Erin Westcott were honored.
Good (Hillsborough) is a Biochemistry major with a 3.72 grade point average, Shelley (Wilmington, Del./Padua Academy) is a Biology major with a 3.72 g.p.a., Radolec (Severn, Md./Old Mill) is an Accounting major with a 3.67 grade point average, Warwick (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales Academy) is a Marketing major with a 3.62 g.p.a., Charniga (Kendall Park/South Brunswick) is an English major with a 3.60 grade point average and Westcott (Unionville, Conn./Farmington) is a Business Administration major with a 3.39 g.p.a.
Tubb (Swedesboro/St. Augustine Prep) is a Secondary Education/History major with a 3.32 grade point average, Billerbeck (Urbandale, Iowa/Urbandale) is an Elementary Education/Fine Arts major with a 3.31 g.p.a., Kandrac (Hamilton/Notre Dame) is a Chemistry major with a 3.29 grade point average, Newhouse (Katy, Texas/Morton Ranch) is a Marketing major with a 3.28 g.p.a., Paules (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) is a Behavioral Neuroscience major with a 3.26 grade point average and McManus (Sharon, Mass./Sharon) is a Business Administration major with a 3.22 g.p.a.
Rider competes at the MAAC championships in Buffalo, New York, February 13-15.
The Rider men are the two-time defending conference champions with the Bronc women placing runner-up for the fourth year in a row in 2013.
