Biography
At Rider:
Biology major…Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic honoree…as a junior swam her best 200 IM (2:09.52) and 400 IM (4:38.97) at the 2015 MAAC Championships…best 100 breast (1:07.87) and 200 breast (2:27.07) times came at the Brown University Invitational… swam her top 500 free (5:25.59) against La Salle…as a sophomore, helped the Broncs to a runner-up team finish at the 2014 MAAC Championships with a silver medal in the 400 IM (4:33.61) and swam on the bronze medal 200 medley relay (1:46.53)…also swam a season-best 2:25.44 in the 200 breast at MAACs…posted top times of 59.78 in the 100 back and 1:06.01 in the 100 breast at the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships…missed part of the season after being diagnosed with a brain tumor but returned to the pool in early December, 2013, earning Princeton's Big 'Al' Inspirational Award, given annually at that meet...as a Rider rookie, finished fifth in both the 200 breast (2:25.46) and the 200 IM (2:09.15) at the 2013 MAAC Championships…swam a 4:37.61 in the 400 IM at the MAACs in the preliminary round…finished 16th at the 2013 ECAC Championships in the 200 breast and 17th in the 100 breast (1:07.32)…in a MAAC dual-meet against Loyola Maryland, finished first in the 100 and 200 breast…in a dual-meet against conference Saint Peter’s University, finished first in the 200 IM and second in the 200 breast…sixth in the 200 IM (2:09.15), seventh in the 400 IM (4:37.61) seventh in the 200 breast (2:25.46) and ninth in the 100 breast (1:07.32) on the Short Course Yard top 10… fifth in the 200 breast, seventh in the 100 breast, eighth in the 400 IM and ninth in the 400 free on the Long Course Meter top 10.
At Padua Academy:
Four-year letterwinner in swimming, earning First Team All-State honors after being a three-time Second Team All-State honoree...team captain and also earned WDEL Athlete of the Week honors...four-year letterwinner in track and field, throwing the shot put and discus...four-time state qualifier and team won the state championship as a senior...first academic honors in 11 of 12 quarters...swam for the Brandywine YMCA for five years and was a three-year national team member...Personal: daughter of John and Lisa Shelley, older sister Samantha.
