Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Despite career kill 1,000 from senior Jaclyn Webber (Anaheim, Calif./Canyon), the Rider University volleyball team lost 3-0 at Fairfield University on Saturday in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match.
Rider lost 25-18, 25-18, 25-17.
Webber finished with seven kills in the match and now has 1,003 in her career to go along with 1,051 digs and 1,143 points in 101 matches.
“Jaclyn's 1,000th kill is a culmination of her hard work and drive over the past four years,” said head coach Christopher Feliciano. “She is a special player for this program and its history and it has been an honor to coach her.”
Also for the Broncs, senior Kayla Wong (Tustin, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) has eight kills and two blocks, hitting .357 with senior Ashlee Amatulli (Menifee, Calif./Temecula Valley) adding 20 assists and eight digs.
Sophomore Alaina Piszczek (Sinking Spring, Pa./Berks Catholic) led Rider with 10 digs.
Rider (12-11, 6-4 MAAC) was out-hit .327 to .156.
“We played well in bits and pieces,” Feliciano said. “But an inconsistent effort isn't going to win many matches.”
The Broncs have lost three straight matches after a 6-1 conference start.
Fairfield won a three-set match against Rider in Lawrenceville on October 11 and the Stags have won 25 of 28 matches all-time against the Broncs.
Rider stays in Connecticut for a MAAC match at Quinnipiac on Sunday at 1pm.
