Wagner College 6, Rider University 1
LAWRENCEVILLE—Despite a straight set win from senior Alison Noll, the Rider University women's tennis team lost a non-conference match to Wagner College on Thursday afternoon.
Noll (Monmouth Junction/South Brunswick) won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles to improve her record to 5-1 on the season.
“Alison came through in her usual winning fashion,” said head coach Doug Potkay. “She kept to her game plan and moved her opponent side to side with good placement. It was an impressive win.”
Noll also teamed up with fellow senior Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) for a 6-2 win at first doubles.
The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday but was postponed 24 hours due to rain.
Both the Rider men's and women's tennis teams travel to Mount St. Mary's on Sunday.
