Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
JERSEY CITY?The Rider University women's tennis team lost a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at the Yanitelli Center tennis bubble Monday afternoon.
Saint Peter's won the match 7-0.
“We played Saint Peter's indoors,” said head coach Ed Torres.? “It was a little too fast of a court for our level of experience.? No excuses, they were a stronger squad but there was a reason behind some of the scores.”
For Rider (0-3, 0-3 MAAC), junior Alison Noll (Monmouth Junction/South Brunswick) continued her competitive play, taking seven games at first singles before losing 7-5, 6-2.
“Alison had another excellent match,” Torres said about his junior transfer who led 5-4 in the opening set.? “The match lasted about two hours and she gave their number one player a real battle.”
The Rider men host Rutgers Camden on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Both the Bronc men and women are back in action at Hofstra on Saturday at 11 a.m.
