LAWRENCEVILLE—The Rider University women's tennis team lost to Lafayette College Wednesday afternoon.
“We battled a more experienced team on a very windy day,” said head coach Ed Torres. “We stayed in a lot of the rallies but made too many errors overall.”
For Rider, sophomore Michelle Caravaglio (Manalapan/Freehold) won four games at second singles before losing 6-2, 6-2.
Caravaglio teamed up with senior Marly Roche (Sussex/High Point Regional) to win six games at first doubles before losing 8-6.
The Rider men host future MAAC-rival Monmouth University on Thursday.
