Broncs Host Saints Sunday

LAWRENCEVILLE-Two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams looking to get back on track will square off Sunday afternoon in Alumni Gymnasium.

The Siena College Saints (2-12, 0-3 MAAC), MAAC Champions in 2008, 2009 and 2010, come to town on a 10-game losing streak.

Rider (6-9, 1-2 MAAC) defeated Siena in Albany on December 1 but has not won since.

The 2pm tip in the newly refurbished Alumni Gymnasium can be seen on the BroncSportsNetwork, with live video streaming on BroncVison and live stats on GameViewer.

Tickets can be purchased online by clicking the "purchase tickets online" link in this story or in person on game day at the ticket window in the lobby of Alumni Gymnasium.  The ticket booth will open on 1 p.m. for Sunday's game.

The Broncs defeated the Saints 62-56 in Albany just four weeks ago. In that game Anthony Myles compiled 20 points and six rebounds. Jonathon Thompson added 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Rider led 41-27 with 15 minutes remaining.

The last time Siena came to Rider, January 29, 2012, the Broncs won 83-72.

Rider and Siena both won the away game in the 2010-11 series. Rider has only won six of the last 14 meetings with Siena. These two teams have met 38 times since the series began in 1976-77, with Rider winning 13. Since joining the MAAC, Rider is 11-20 against Siena in regular season games.

Siena has lost its last 10 games. Against Iona Friday night 6'8", 240 pound forward O.D. Anosike, compiled 19 points and 15 rebounds in a four-point loss at home. Anosike is one of the premier players in the MAAC.  A Preseason First Team All-MAAC selection, Anosike led the nation in rebounding last year and is averaging 13 caroms a game this year. The Saints have balanced scoring, with four players scoring in double figures.

Rider currently has four players scoring in double figures (Anthony Myles 12.6, Nurideen Lindsey 11.1, Jonathon Thompson 10.5 and Daniel Stewart 10.3), while Stewart, Myles and Thompson are combining for 15 rebounds per game.

Following the Siena game the Broncs hit the road again, traveling to Manhattan Thursday.
