Rider's Robinson Third Team All-MET
NEW YORK, NY-Rider University senior Justin Robinson was named to the 2010-11 All-Met Division I men's college basketball third team, presented by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Assn.
"Being named to the All-Met team is a great honor," said Rider head coach Tommy Dempsey.
A First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and All-District 1 selection this year, Robinson ranked fifth in the nation in free throw percentage (.909), 18th in three-point field goal percentage (.427) and 53rd in three-pointers made per game (2.6).
"Justin had a great career and it is nice to see him include with so many distinguished players," Dempsey said.
Robinson led Rider to 23 wins this year, tying the program record for wins in a season, with 15.2 points and 3.8 assists per game as the point guard.
Robinson (London, England/Blair Academy) graduates from Rider with 1,480 points, 10th most ever at Rider and 394 assists, sixth most ever among Broncs. He played in 130 games, the second most ever and he won 82 games, the most ever in a Rider uniform.
During the summer Robinson is a member of the Great Britain National Team, 'Team GB' which competes in the European Championships. Great Britain will host the 2012 Olympics in London, Robinson's hometown.
