Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
JERSEY CITY--The Rider University women's tennis team was swept in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match Tuesday afternoon at Saint Peter's.
"Saint Peter's kept the ball in play and had a more experienced team," said head coach Ed Torres. "They played a little steadier and made less errors."
For Rider, junior Marly Roche (Sussex/High Point Regional) won four games at first singles before losing 6-1, 6-3 with senior Danielle White (Reading, Pa./Reading) also winning four games before being defeated 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles.
"We gave them good games within the games but that didn't really get reflected in the match score," Torres added. "We kept the ball alive but Saint Peter's really played error free tennis."
Both the Rider men's and women's tennis teams host Mount St. Mary's on Saturday at noon on the Lawrenceville campus courts.
