LAWRENCEVILLE-The Broncs lost to Delaware State Sunday afternoon. "We used to beat Delaware State," said Rider head coach Ed Torres. "Since they became an 'international' team we have not been able to beat them. They have a good team."
For Rider, junior Tricia Ashmore (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) lost 6-0 at second singles before coming back to win four games in the second set.
"Tricia came back after losing 6-0," Torres said. "Once she got used to the pace of play she was able to win four games. Tricia has excellent ground strokes, a very nice forehand and backhand."
Rider (0-3) hosts Saint Joseph's Wednesday.
