N.J.I.T. 6, Rider University 1
LAWRENCEVILLE--The Rider University women's tennis team lost a non-conference match to the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Saturday. "We played a team that was just better than we were," said head coach Ed Torres. "N.J.I.T. is an outstanding team that has beaten most of the schools in our conference and they just over powered us today."
For Rider, sophomore Danielle White (Reading, Pa./Reading) won at sixth singles 6-0, 6-1.
"Danielle played well," Torres said about her fifth win of the season (third best on the squad). "She didn't make many errors and that's the way you win matches."
Both the men's and women's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tennis championships will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York April 23-25.
