Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Match
BALTIMORE, Md.--The Rider University volleyball team was swept by Loyola in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match Saturday afternoon.
The Greyhounds won 25-19, 25-14, 25-10.
"We came out slow and played flat," said head coach Emily Ahlquist. "Today's match was not good."
For Rider (1-22, 0-13 MAAC), senior Amanda Piccolini (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) had 21 assists with senior Elyse Grassmuck (San Antonio, Texas/La Vernia) adding 11 digs.
The match featured 10 ties and five lead changes, eight ties and four lead changes coming in the opening set.
The 'Hounds lead the all-time series 23-7 with the last Rider win coming during the 2001 season. Loyola defeated Rider twice last season by 3-1 scores and the Greyhounds face Rider for the return conference match in Lawrenceville on November 13.
Rider has lost 21 straight.
The Broncs host Marist in a MAAC match on Sunday at 1pm in Alumni Gym.
