Rider Wins NACMA Award
DALLAS, TEXAS?For the second consecutive year, the Rider University Athletics Department won a bronze medal at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) convention in Dallas, Texas.
This year Rider won the bronze medal in the "Promotional T-Shirt Design" category for Group II. Last year Rider won in the basketball season ticket brochure design category.
“It was the second time we submitted any of our promotional pieces or ideas to NACMA for awards consideration,” said Rider Associate Director of Athletics Karin Torchia. “To be recognized again at this year's convention was a great honor not only for the athletics department but the university as a whole. There were over 1300 entries in 18 different categories this year and we were the only MAAC institution to win an award of any type in any category.”
The brochure was designed by former Rider basketball player Michael Scott '02, who is currently a graphic designer with the NFL's New York Jets.
“Mike Scott did an outstanding job with the creativity and design elements and truly deserves the credit for this award,” Torchia said.
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 18 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness.
