Rider's Hayes, Olson
on Player of Year Watch
LUBBOCK, TEXAS?The College
Baseball Foundation released the 2009 Brooks Wallace Player of the Year Watch
List, and two members of the Rider
University baseball team
are on it, seniors Jamie Hayes and Sean Olson. “"We are excited to hear
that Jamie and Sean are being recognized as potential player of the year
candidates,” said Rider head coach Barry Davis.
The Wallace
Award is presented annually to the nation's top collegiate baseball player in
conjunction with the College Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in July
in Texas.
“It is a
tribute to their hard work and dedication to our program,” Davis said. “It is nice to see Rider
Baseball mentioned among the best in college baseball."
Hayes (Sunrise, Florida/Piper)
was the New Jersey Player of the Year, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
Championship Tournament MVP, the MAAC Relief Pitcher of the Year and an
All-East selection in 2008.

Augustine Prep) earned First-Team All-New Jersey and First Team All-MAAC honors
last season, leading the Broncs in runs batted in (52), home runs (11) and
