John Miller returns in 2013-14 for his seventh season as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team after being promoted to the full-time assistant position in 2010.

Rider University Head Coach Lynn Milligan named Miller as an assistant coach on June 15, 2007.

His responsibilities include recruiting, player development, scouting, and coordinating the Bronc offense.

With 15 wins in 2012-13, Rider is coming off its best season since the Broncs went 16-12 in 1994-95.

The 15 wins were the fifth most in the 74-year history of the program and Rider tied its best Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference record and finish at 10-8, finishing fourth in the conference.

Rider made the Metro Atlantic Athletic quarterfinals and junior guard MyNeshia McKenzie earned First Team All-MAAC and Second Team All-Met honors with senior Caitlin Bopp earning Third Team All-MAAC honors.

For the fourth time in Miller's first six seasons, a Rider player earned a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie team with freshman Mikal Johnson earning the honors in 2012-13.

“John does a lot of our film work,” said Milligan.  “He has a great basketball mind.  He loves to watch tape and work on the X’s and O’s part of the game.  John isn’t afraid to do research and suggest new things to make us better on the court.”

Since joining Rider, Miller has been instrumental in recruiting and developing several successful players.   He has been involved with the recruitment of three straight members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Rookie team (Sarah Homan, Caitlin Bopp, and MyNeshia McKenzie) and in 2011-12, Miller helped develope Ali Heller into one of the most prolific three-point shooters in the nation with Heller earning MAAC 6th player of the year honors.

Miller came to Rider from Mount St. Mary's University where he served as an assistant coach during the 2006-07 season working under Vanessa Blair.  At the Mount, Miller assisted with post instruction, practice preparation, and the strength and conditioning program.

Miller graduated from Mount St. Mary's in 2006 with a degree in business (with a minor in Communication) and earned his MBA from The Mount in 2008.

In the summer of 2012, Miller married former Bronc assistant coach Rashana Barnes.
