Dellavecchia won four-straight matches at MAC Championships to become Rider’s first-ever MAC Champion. He defeated Bloomsburg’s Alex Carida, Buffalo’s Michael Petite, Old Dominion’s Larry Early and Missouri’s Jarrett Jacques consecutively to earn the title and take the No. 4 seed at NCAA’s. Dellavecchia won his final 13 matches of the year following a setback to nationally-ranked No. 2 Hayden Hilday of North Carolina State in the Southern Scuffle title bout. It was his only loss after the calendar turned to 2020 and he finished the year with a 30-2 record.
