Sophomore Asia Young was stellar for Rider at the 2018 MAAC Indoor Championships. Young was named to the Most Outstanding Female Field Performer after winning a gold medal in the long jump. Young tied her own program record with a leap of 6.01m in the event. Young picked up her second medal of the conference championships with a bronze in the triple jump. Young ended up in third in the event with a mark of 11.64m. She is the first Rider female to earn a major award at the Indoor Championships since Kelly Kajunski in 2008.
