Former Rider standout Heather Beintema returns to the Broncs for her eighth season as an assistant coach in 2015.  A 2006 graduate, Beintema owns the career strikeout record with 726 and the single season record for wins (22) and strikeouts (244).  Beintema led the 2005 Broncs in wins, earned run average, innings pitched, games started and strikeouts.  As a sophomore she was named First Team All-Northeast Region, MAAC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-MAAC.  Beintema ranked 20th nationally in strikeouts per seven innings (8.6) and 21st nationally with an ERA of 0.95 in 2004.  Beintema set a career high with 15 K's as a sophomore in seven innings at Lafayette and threw a no-hitter at Niagara and spun one-hitters against Columbia and at Fairfield in 2004.  Beintema had a streak of 45 innings without allowing an earned run.  Beintema was the 2005 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year and was the Rider Female Athlete of the Month in March of 2004.  Beintema was named MAAC Rookie of the Year, First Team All-MAAC and the MAAC tournament Most Valuable Player, leading Rider to the MAAC Title and the NCAA Tournament in 2003, allowing just one run in 21 innings pitched in the MAAC Tournament.
